To compare: The causes and pathophysiology of acute pyelonephritis, APSGN, and nephrotic syndrome.

Concept introduction: Pyelonephritis is an infection in one or both of the upper urinary tracts (ureter, renal pelvis, and interstitium). Glomerulonephritis or acute Poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis (APSGN) is the condition which causes inflammation in the kidney. Nephrotic syndrome (Nephrosis) is a disorder that damages the kidney causing excess excretion of proteins in the urine. This condition is mostly seen in children and adults.
