Interpretation:

The calcium-ATPase of the muscle cells hydrolyze the chiral ATP?S and results in the formation of thiophosphate in inverted configuration.

Concept introduction:

ATP synthase is a membrane-bound enzyme that contains two subunits F0 and F1 subunits. The function of F0 subunit is to transfer H+ from intermembrane space to the mitochondrial matrix. ? subunit is placed between the F0 and F1 subunit, which forms a rotating shaft energized by the flow of H+ (Brownian motion). ATP synthase performs two functions, synthesis of ATP and hydrolysis of ATP. When ATP is synthesized, then ? subunit rotates in a clockwise direction. When ATP is hydrolyzed, then the rotator turns in anti-clockwise directions.
