Concept introduction:
The free radicals, that are found in a biological system and are formed from oxygen, are termed as reactive oxygen species. Oxygen is prone to form ROS because of the presence of two unpaired electrons in its outer shell. Moreover, the sequential addition of electrons can lead to the formation of reactive oxygen species.
