Mention the strokes of a four-stroke cycle.

Explanation of Solution

The engine cycles are determined by the total number of piston strokes needed to finish the cycle. During each stroke, the crankshaft completes rotation of 180degree. This means each stroke of the cycle needs half revolution of the crankshaft.

The strokes of the four-stroke cycle are as follows:

  • Intake stroke.
  • Compression stroke.
  • Power stroke.
  • Exhaust stroke.
