Concept Introduction: On the basis of composition, all matter can be classified as pure substances and mixture. Element, molecule and compound are examples of pure substances. Mixtures are composed of more than one substances. Solution is a mixture of solute and solvent. On the basis of particle size, solution can again classified as true solution, colloidal and suspensions. True solution has very small size of particles that is approximately 1 nm whereas the particle size in colloidal solution is between 1-100 nm.
