Introduction:
The electroencephalogram (EEG) is used to measure the electrical activity in the brain. It is measured by frequency, amplitude, and the polarity of the brain waves. Sleep spindles are defined as brain waves formed from a burst of brain activity while the patient is asleep. The waves are in the range of 12-14 Hz frequency and last for a relatively short period of time.
