Interpretation:
Taking pills like Prozac for people is beneficiary or not is to be explained and whether this study would produce a society ‘nice’ people in future or not is to be discussed.
Concept Introduction:
Clinical depression is partly caused by a deficit of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, especially serotonin. It appears that serotonin deficit induce adaptive changes that produce the depressed state. If serotonin levels are brought back to normal, the adaptive changes are reversed and the depression is relieved. Prozac is also known as fluoxetine. It works on nerve cells to inhibit the re-uptake of serotonin and produce a net increase in the brain serotonin level.
