The molecules released from the cat’s body are inhaled by the dog.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Odor is experienced when any molecules in the surrounding are inhaled by the nose.
When a cat is passed across backyard, it releases molecules from its body and the surface of the fur. These molecules mix with the air molecules in the surrounding. After an hour, when a dog is passed from that same alley, then those molecules are inhaled by the nose of the dog.
Conclusion:
Thus, molecule is ejected from the cat’s body or fur, when inhaled by the nose of the dog, and then he finds the trail of the cat easily.
