A project manager must require both the skills of a manger and a leader because each skill will aid the manager in different situations.

Some of the management skills are:

• Managing the task so that they are carried out in the preferred sequence and to reach the performance goals.
• Human resources, so that persons working on it will have directions and motivation.
• Effective communication must be followed, so that the information is passed to all members.
• Quality in the objectives achieved.

Some of the leadership skills are:

• The competence of the manager to handle changes.
• The manager must be capable to decide what is to be change and when it must be changed.
• The skill to handle unforeseen or unwanted changes.
• The ability to persuade and work with others to finish projects and achieve goals.
