Explanation of Solution

Nowadays, individuals are recruited in various ways and the most common way has been through internal referrals which means where an individual is recommended to a job by an employee working in the organization. This applicant maybe an individual within the company who may get the job in the form of a promotion or a known applicant by an employee working at the organization where a vacancy has arisen. It is easier to recruit someone the organization knows rather than a person who is not known which will increase costs to the business in the form of training, advertising etc. Recruiting internally makes it so much easier to give that particular individual the job in the form of a promotion as this would help reduce the costs of training, advertising and the organization wouldn’t have to fear about mistakes occurring as the person has been working for the organization for a long time. But, however this doesn’t count always, as a person working in the organization may do his current tasks better than the new positon he just got promoted to. So we really can’t say that internal recruitment is a better option, as it lacks the creativeness of generating ideas internally.

Another way people do get recruited is through internship programs, which is a form of training conducted for fresh and new graduates who have never worked before. This makes business costs to increase as everything regarding how the job is done and what needs to be done should be taught to the intern. But, companies do take in interns due to the fact that they are young and may have vivid and innovative ideas about certain aspects of a particular project. Even though, it does increase the cost, by giving in the proper training methods, the company would be able to retain their best interns.

Recruitment is not an easy approach for organizations as they it takes time to analyze and evaluate a particular individual’s performance. External recruitment is another method of recruiting candidates outside the business by advertising the positions available on newspapers, social media sites, employment agencies etc. By using this method, new ideas can be generated as the person is not known to the business unlike in internal recruitment, but recruiting a person the business does not know can cause serious problems for the organization and therefore to check the skills and abilities of employees, Human Resource managers are discovering new ways to identify and test the capabilities of the employees by setting up online IQ level tests, online written tests etc. so that this would help attract applicants from all over the globe to apply which can be a new and successful trend in the recruitment process.
