The adrenal medulla secretes epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine (mixtures of catecholamine), whereas, the adrenal cortex secretes cortisol and aldosterone into the blood stream. The adrenal gland regulates alertness, metabolism , blood circulation, blood glucose level, and respiration.
