Question
Chapter 17, Problem 14CYR
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Besides the brain, the heart is the main organ of the body. It supplies nutrients to each and every part of the body, through blood. It has four chambers, which are right ventricle, right atrium, left atrium, and left ventricle. The contraction of these chambers empties the blood, and their relaxation leads to filling of blood. Cardiac cycle is the alternate filling and emptying of blood from the heart’s chambers. Contraction phase of the cardiac cycle is called systolic phase, and relaxation phase of the cardiac cycle is called diastolic phase.
