Poverty and inequality play a major role in healthcare outcomes as well as increase overall healthcare costs. Please take a look at the different programs that exist in our country that are meant to promote better health outcomes for the poor. This includes topics such as WIC and SNAP, as well as hospital investment programs that support low-income families.
This should include discussion on EITC (Earned Income Tax credit), CHIP and Medicaid. For Medicaid, take a look at what Medicaid expansion could do for Texas in terms of improving care for the poor as well as funding for Texas as state.
