Expert Solution & Answer
Interpretation Introduction
To determine:
The problem to burn strong acid with strong base
Answer to Problem 1E
Solution:
The burning of strong acid with string base causes serious harm to the human body, mass and tissues.
Explanation of Solution
The strong acids always try to deprotonate and it usually burn the skin or tissue of a human body on contact. Similarly the strong bases always attract the acid to get neutralise. On contact of these two, the reaction results in formation of a salt and water as shown below with loss of lot of heat energy in terms of enthalpy ( ΔH ).
Example:
i) The reaction between strong acid like HCl and strong base like NaOH forms NaCl and water on reaction with enthalpy ( ΔH ) -58 kJ/mol
HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H2O
ii) The reaction between strong acid like H2SO4 and strong base like KOH forms K2SO4 and water on reaction with enthalpy ( ΔH ) -55.9 kJ/mol
H2SO4 + KOH → K2SO4 + H2O
Conclusion
Thus the reaction of strong acid with strong base forms a lot of heat and if the reaction occurs at high temperature then a burning sensation will be experienced.

Most ceramic materials have low thermal conductivities because(a) Electron mobility is strongly restricted due to their strong ionic-covalent bonding.(b) False, in general they are excellent thermal conductors (they are used in ovens).(c) Electron mobility is dependent on T and therefore they are poor conductors at high temperatures.(d) Electron mobility is highly restricted by secondary bonds.
Si increases its conductivity when doped with Ga and P.(a) True, because the conduction mechanism is due to electrons and holes generated by Ga and P as the case may be.(b) True, because a completely different compound is generated.(c) False, because when impurities are introduced, the opposite occurs.(d) False, because the conductivity of Si is only determined by the increase in temperature, which must be controlled.
