Question
Chapter 16, Problem 16B.1BE
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The activation energy of mercury associated with viscosity at two different temperatures is to be stated.
Concept introduction:
Viscosity is a state of being thick or sticky due to high internal friction. For a liquid to acquire motion, some minimum energy, activation energy is required. The probability of molecule having that energy is dependant on Boltzmann distribution. Viscosity and temperature are inversely related to each other, as mobility increases on increasing temperature.
