Summary Introduction
A unit containing two nucleobases bound to each other by bonds of hydrogen is called a base pair. In DNA, four nitrogenous bases are present, namely adenine, guanine, thymine, and cytosine. In RNA, the base pairs are adenine, uracil, guanine, and cytosine. The complementary base pairing is the process in which guanine always binds to cytosine and adenine always binds to thymine.
