There are certain tests conducted on microbes based on utilization of nutrients by microbes. These biochemical tests include “$\text{O}/\text{F}$(oxidation/fermentation) test”, “coagulase test”, “oxidase test”, and “catalase test”. The proper knowledge behind the microbiological biochemistry is important for interpretation and conduction of experiments related to the identification of microbes.
