Summary Introduction
To understand: The anatomic separation of the nose and mouth into superior and inferior structures.
Introduction:
Body planes are used to help identify the anatomic order of an organ. This is done to make it easier to locate and identify the organ. The axial plane, sagittal plane, and coronal plane are the three orientation planes. The nose and mouth are divided into superior and inferior structures by a transverse (horizontal) plane.
