Introduction:
Clonal selection is a critical operating principle of adaptive immune response. Here, the newly generated B-cells (lymphocytes maturing in the bone marrow) or the naïve B-cells forma range of antibodies with a unique antigen binding site (Fab). When the body encounters an antigen, the B-cells that can make the appropriate antibodies interacts with the antigen. The multiplication of only those specific cells begins, that is called clonal expansion.
