The vapor pressure is defined as the pressure exerted by the vapor of the substances that are in equilibrium with the condensed phase at a given temperature. The vapor pressure of the liquid depends upon the strength of the intermolecular interactions among the molecules. The vapor pressure of the liquid is less if the intermolecular forces are strong.
