Introduction:

The chemical processes, which take place inside an organism for the sustenance of life, are known as metabolic processes. Organisms can be classified on the basis of ways in which they obtained carbon and energy; i.e., metabolic processes. Broad classification of such organisms is as phototrophs, autotrophs, heterotrophs, and chemotrophs. Organisms with a combination of these metabolic processes are also found.
