Introduction:
The blood vessels in the body form a closed network, in which the blood flows from the heart to the tissues and back to the heart. There are five kinds of vessels in the body, namely- veins, arteries, arterioles, venules, and capillaries. The veins and the venules carry the deoxygenated blood. The only exception is the pulmonary veins. One of the functions of the veins is to act as a blood reservoir.
