What do we call the body’s specialized cells that monitor specific internal or external conditions?
To identify:
The specialized cells of body that monitor the specific internal and external conditions.
Introduction:
The sensory information passes through the neurons in the central nervous system is responsible to monitor the functions of all over the body. This can be done through the sensory receptors.
The sensory receptors are the specialized cells responsible for monitoring the specific conditions of the body and external environment.
Explanation of Solution
The sensations are the important part of our life and are created by the sensory receptors. During stimulation an action potential is propagated along the axon of a sensory neuron, which is generated by receptors is then further relayed to other neurons present in the path. The signal is processed in CNS where it is finally delivered.
The sensory receptors react with the physical stimulus in external environment. The sensory cells also act as detecting cells they can detect the changes in the internal and external environment

Multiple answers: Choose all of the relevant answers from the choices below. answer choices a)Intracellular fluid b)Intersitial fluid c)Extracellular fluid d)External environment (e.g., mother's nipple) e)Blood plasma 2)Which of the following is NOT true regarding negative feedback loops and homeostasis? answer choices a. Homeostatic control systems cannot maintain complete constancy of the internal environment b. The set point of some variable can be reset c. It is always possible for physiological variables to be maintained in a relatively constant manner using homeostatic control systems d. The stability of an internal environment variable is achieved by balancing inputs and outputs e. In negative feedback systems, a change in the variable being regulated brings about responses that tend to move the variable in a direction that is opposite to the…arrow_forward
