Interpretation:

Gallium-doped germanium is whether p-type or n-type semiconductor has to be identified.

Concept Introduction:

p-type semiconductor: If a group 14 elements is doped with atoms of group 13 elements, then an electron can be transferred from 14th group element to 13th group element by creating a hole in the valence band which increases the conductivity.  These types of semiconductors are called p-type semiconductors.

n-type semiconductor: If 15th group elements are used as dopant for 14th group elements an electron will be transferred to conduction band results in increase in conductivity.  These types of semiconductors are called n-type semiconductors.
