Introduction:
Ciprofloxacin is a drug that belongs to the class of quinolones and it inhibits the DNA synthesis of bacteria by targeting enzyme DNA gyrase. The inhibition of DNA synthesis is essential for preventing the growth of bacteria. The graph shows the results of a study in which three quinolones (family of antibiotics) were added in a culture of growing bacteria separately and then DNA synthesis rates were analyzed over time compared to a culture not exposed to any drug.
