Concept explainers
Interpretation:
The effect on the ratio of cyclic photophosphorylation to noncyclic photophosphorylation should be explained, when chloroplasts carrying out not only the Calvin cycle but also the extensive active transport.
Concept introduction:
The cyclic photophosphorelation provides energy to the calvin cycle and it is performed in photosystem II only. The energy is produced in the form of ATP.
The non-cyclic photophosphorylation occurs in both the photosystem II by P680 and photosystem I by P700. It involves the production of NADH and ATP.
Interpretation:
The effect on the ratio of cyclic photophosphorylation to noncyclic photophosphorylation should be explained, when chloroplasts using both the Calvin cycle and C4 pathway..
