Introduction:
The heart is able to initiate the contraction on its own and does not require any external stimulation. There are numerous clumps of specialized cardiac muscle tissue in the heart. These clumps facilitate in initiating and distributing the impulses. This specialized cardiac muscle tissue forms the cardiac conduction system. The main portions of the cardiac conduction system are AV and SA node.
