Introduction:

Geobacter is the anaerobic bacterial species that has the potential to oxidize organic compounds and metals. This bacterium is also known as a metal-reducing bacterium. The function of Geobacter is to remove the uranium from the contaminated environment. Anoxic refers to an environment or condition in which oxygen is either absent or is present in very less amount.
