Neurons are the primary unit of the nervous system. A bundle of these nerve fibers forms a nerve. Based on the type of nerve impulses transmitted, these neurons are of two primary types − sensory and motor. Based on the functional aspects, these neurons are classified into three more types. These include primary, secondary, and tertiary neurons.
