Introduction:
The process started by stimuli that act on sensory receptors is termed as sensation. The brain continuously receives sensations as action potentials from a variety of sensory receptors that obtain stimuli from both insides as well as outside of the body. Sensory receptors respond to stimuli by producing action potentials that are transmitted along nerves to the spinal cord and brain.
