Program Plan Intro

Collapse the stack of integers

Program plan:

  • Import necessary packages.
  • Create a class “StackCollapse”,
    • Define the method “collapse ()” that accepts stack of integers,
      • Construct “LinkedList” object.
      • Execute till stack is empty,
        • Transfer all the stack elements from stack to queue.
      • Execute till queue becomes empty,
        • Insert the element removed from the queue to stack.
      • Execute till stack becomes empty,
        • Insert the element popped out from the stack to queue.
      • Execute while queue size is greater than “1”,
        • Insert the sum of the successive pair into the stack.
      • Check whether the queue is non-empty,
        • Insert the element removed from the queue to stack.
      • Print stack after collapsed.
    • Define the method “main()”,
      • Create object for “Stack”.
      • Add integers into the stack.
      • Print the original stack of integers.
      • Call the method “collapse()” with stack as parameter.
