Introduction: Melanosomes in skin synthesize melanin pigment and account for the human skin color. Melanin pigment accounts for dark skin color. More melanin pigment provides protection against UV radiations and reflects less light. The inter-individual variation is seen in skin colors due to differences in cellular distribution of melanosomes and the amount of melanin they form.
