The region of location of basal and alar plates of neural tubes and what do each form.

Concept introduction:

Basal plates are present in sulcus limitans region and contain primary motor neurons. It also contains lower motor neurons and interneurons. Alar plates help in communication between somatic and visceral sensory impulses. The sensory nuclei in alar plate contain cranial nerves.
