Concept introduction:

Mitochondrial DNA or $\text{mtDNA}$ is found is in mitochondria of eukaryotic cell. It converts chemical energy obtained from food into ATP which is used by cells to perform a cellular activity. The nuclear DNA is found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. Transcription occurs in the nucleus of the cell.
