The major nerves of the lumbar plexus and the structures they innervate.

Introduction:

There are 31 pairs of spinal nerves, which comprise eightpairs of cervical spinal nerves, 12 pairs of thoracic spinal nerves, fivepairs each of the sacral as well as lumbar spinal nerves, and onetiny pair of coccygeal nerves. The anterior rami of these nerves come together and form a complex network of nerves known as nerve plexuses.
