Interpretation:

The effect that increases the rate of dissolving for a solid solute in a solvent is to be predicted.

Concept introduction:

When a soluble solute crystal is dropped in a solvent, the solute crystal begins to dissolve. The solvent molecule surrounds the solute. Due to which solute crystal gets pulled away from the remaining solute. The interaction between solvent and solute is stronger which leads to detachment of solute crystal from remaining solute. This process is known as solvation. Generally, the solvent is considered as water.
