Phages are the viruses that infect bacteria. Bacteriophages are the infectious agents havingthe bacteriocidalability. The phages consist of twocomponents, namely thegeneticmaterial as a core element and protein coat. During infection, the phages attach on its host and insert its genetic material inside the cell. Mainly, the phage infects its host by two types of life cycles: lytic (virulent) cycle and lysogenic (temperate) cycle.
