Most of the surface features of the orbital region are responsible for protecting the eye. There are three surface features of the orbital region. These features are as follows:

Eyelids:

The function of eyelids is to protect the eyes against any object moving near the eye. It also prevents contact of airborne particles with the eyeball.

Eyebrows:

They are responsible for protecting the eyes from sunlight and any possible mechanical damage to the eye.

Superior palpebral fissure:

It is also known as upper eyelid crease. Most individuals can easily touch it. It also protects the eye.
