Answer to Problem 1MWE

Killing sperm is spermicide.

Explanation of Solution

The spermicide is also referred to as spermaticide and it is an agent or substance that killing or destroys sperm (spermatozoa). Generally, spermicides are joined with contraceptive barrier methods such as condoms, sponges, diaphragms, and cervical caps. It is believed that combined methods are results in lower rates of pregnancy. The spermicides are unflavored, lubricative, clear, non-staining, and unscented. A primary chemical present in the spermicide is nonoxynol-9 that inhibits the motility of the sperm and it is the most common active component of spermicide. It is available in several forms includes films, foams, and gel.
