Concept introduction:

Newman projections are used to show conformation, and it is shown by rotating about the C-C single bond about the axis. In Newman projection, the atom in the front is represented as a point, and the atom in the back it represented as a circle. Here a 90o counterclockwise rotation of both molecules gives C2 at front and C3 at back in Newman projection.
