Summary Introduction
Introduction:
An action potential is an electrical impulse used for passing the signal between the nerve cell and muscle cell. It occurs only when there is a high density of ion channels. The pathway of action potential begins at the axon and the trigger zone. The voltage-gated ion channels are activated by changes in the voltage gradient throughout the membrane.
