Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Each heartbeat is associated with the rhythmic contraction and relaxation of the chambers of the heart. The period of time in which the ventricles contract and pump the blood into the aorta and the pulmonary artery is known as the systole. Whereas diastole is the period of time in which the ventricles relax leading to the inflow of blood into them. A cardiac cycle comprises of all the events that take place during one heartbeat and comprises of the phases known as the atrial systole and the ventricular systole.
