The process of reproductive cloning.
Given:
A method of producing a genetic duplicate of an existing organism is the reproductive cloning.
Introduction:
The nuclear transfer experiment was first conducted by Hans Spemann in 1928 in salamander embryo which was followed by the experiments by Robert Briggs and Thomas J. King in 1952. In 1962, John Gurdon proved that as the differentiation occurred, there was no loss of genetic material in the cloned offspring. In 1996, Ian Wilmut and Keith Campbell cloned the first mammal named as Dolly. The production of dolly initiated the discussion worldwide about the possibility of human cloning.
