Summary Introduction

Introduction: The central nervous system is composed of two major organs, namely the spinal cord and the brain. The spinal cord is a thin, long tube-like structure that originates from the medulla oblongata of the brainstem and extends toward the lumbar region of the vertebral column. Most of the nerves from the peripheral nervous system, which arise from the spinal cord, take part in sending impulses from the effector organs.
