Concept introduction:

Genetic drift is a change in the allele frequencies that occurs purely by chance .genetic drift tends to eliminate alleles from a population. It is the variation in the relative frequency of different genotypes in a small population. Founder effect also causes genetic drift due to which biological evolution takes place.
