Introduction:
Neurons are the basic functional unit of the nervous system. Depending on their structure, neurons are classified into unipolar neuron, bipolar, multipolar, and anaxonic neurons. Multipolar neurons possess multiple dendrites and only one axon. This is the most common type seen abundantly in the spinal cord and brain. Multipolar neurons vary in their size and shape based on their function and location.
