Introduction

The vast majority of American children are inundated with images of violence in all media sources, ranging from television and films to video games and the Internet. Psychologists and the general public alike are concerned about all the chaos that children and teenagers witness, which makes them figure that there must be significant consequences. Research has shown a positive correlation between media violence and aggressive behaviors among children. There are different explanations for why such exposure to media violence can end up producing aggression among certain of these individuals.
