Network latency:

• Network latency is a kind of delay that occurs in data communication over a network.
• Typically, small delays occurring in network connections are termed as low latency whereas long delays are termed as high latency.
• Generally, high latency leads to bottlenecks in the network connections.
• Often, it inhibits data from using network pipe and decreases the bandwidth of the network.
• Network administrators often consider network latency as a metric while computing performance and efficiency of the network.

Packet loss:

• Packet loss refers to the number of packets that fail to reach their intended destination.
• Packet loss is caused either by network congestion or errors in data transmission.
• Network administrators often consider packer loss as a metric while computing performance and efficiency of the network.
