Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: If selenide ions occupy the same sites as the sulfide ions in zinc sulfide is to be predicted.

Concept introduction: In $\text{ZnS}$ structure, the ${\text{S}}^{2-}$ ions are arranged in an fcc unit cell and half of the eight tetrahedral holes inside the cells are occupied by ${\text{Zn}}^{\text{2+}}$ ions.
