Summary Introduction

To compare and contrast: The muscles of the three compartments of the leg and their actions.

Concept introduction: Crural muscles are the muscles of the leg that help in movement of ankle, foot, and toes. The deep fascia partitions separate the leg musculature into three separate compartments, namely anterior compartment, posterior compartment, and lateral compartment. These three compartments have own blood supply and innervation. The muscles of similar compartment simultaneously share common features.
